Center for Assistance to Victims of Criminal Acts - Quebec Region

The CAVACs provide frontline services to anyone who has been a victim of a criminal act, as well as to their loved ones and witnesses of a criminal act. CAVAC assistance is available whether or not the perpetrator of the crime has been identified, arrested, prosecuted, or convicted. The CAVACs work in collaboration with professionals from the judicial system, the healthcare and social services network, and community organizations. Their intervention with victims is tailored to respect their needs and pace. It is based on empowering individuals to manage their own lives and make decisions that affect them.
