Enfant Soleil
A sick child turns the whole family's life upside down.
Children are not small adults. To heal better, they need fast, precise care, and equipment adapted to their size, reassuring spaces designed with them in mind, but also to be with their parents and to have a chance to spend as much time as possible close to the comfort of home. To get better, they need care adapted to their reality, their strength and their courage.
That’s why we’ve been by their side, across Quebec, since 1988.
- To support excellence and innovation by equipping medical teams with the technology and resources they need to provide more compassionate, precise, safe and rapid care.
- To facilitate community-based care to reduce costly and exhausting travel so that children spend less time in the hospital and more time playing.
For the health of our little sunshines.
The impact of your donation
Together, thanks to the support of our donors, we are moving Quebec’s pediatric ecosystem forward—from the Magdalen Islands to Gatineau.
The four major university pediatric centres receive 87% of the allocations. Between them, they take care of children from all regions of Quebec whenever specialized or superspecialized care (care not available in regional hospitals) is required. We are at the side of each of these centres to care for our children.
In parallel, Enfant Soleil supports over a hundred hospitals and organizations that look after the health of thousands of children throughout Quebec. They receive 13% of all allocations, with the primary objective of providing the best care close to home.
Each year, specialists who understand the realities of the pediatric care conduct an in-depth analysis of needs in the field, according to the priorities, the impact the projects will have and the level of care of the medical establishments. Enfant Soleil then funds different initiatives based on its five areas of action:
• Care programs enhanced through innovative initiatives, in both rural areas and major urban centres;
• Clinical research projects that push the limits of what is possible;
• State of the art equipment adapted to children’s size and needs;
• Inviting spaces that help with healing, for the children and their loved ones;
• Prevention initiatives to cultivate overall health from early childhood.
