Our organization’s mission is to support individuals aged 15 to 35 living in Verdun in their professional, personal, and social development to ensure their well-being within the community.
To achieve this, the CJE Verdun provides counselling services, training, and a variety of activities tailored to each person’s specific needs, regardless of their socioeconomic situation.
HELPING YOUNG PEOPLE FIND THEIR PATH, HERE AND NOW.
Today in Quebec, nearly one young adult in ten is neither working nor in school nor in training. In July 2025, youth unemployment reached 14.6%, the highest level recorded in Canada since 2010 (Source: Statistics Canada). Loss of direction, isolation, repeated challenges, the road to independence can quickly feel blocked.
In Verdun, this reality is very tangible. Every year, the CJE Verdun supports over 350 young people, many on the verge of dropping out, some already deeply disconnected. They are looking for a first job, a return to school, a life project, or simply someone to listen and an open door.
Fragmented paths, broken momentum
Lack of support, fragile self-confidence, isolation, mental health challenges. Behind every young person, there is a story. Often, there is a strong desire to move forward, without knowing where to begin.
Many arrive without a clear goal. Their confidence has been shaken by repeated setbacks or by the feeling that they do not belong anywhere. They doubt themselves. They doubt the future.
The CJE Verdun, a springboard for every young person
Each year, hundreds of young people rebuild their confidence thanks to a dedicated team that supports them with respect and care. Young people who once doubted themselves grow into active, confident adults who are engaged in their community.
The impact of your donation
The CJE Verdun in 2024–2025:
Over 350 young people received one-on-one support to get back on the path to employment and independence;
Nearly 1,000 high school students took part in our thematic workshops, school projects, or received personalized support to help them stay in school;
140 youth and adults engaged in collective projects to build skills and get involved in their community;
